Plan Now for FY 2009 H-1B Quota - ***ADVANCE NOTICE TO EMPLOYERS & EMPLOYEES** Date: Oct. 22, 2007
You may be aware the H-1B quota for FY 2009 opens up on April 1, 2008. On or after this date you can file H-1B petitions with employment start date of October 1, 2008.  We urge you to plan for your FY 2009 filings from now to avoid any disappointment.   Limited H-1B Visas: There is only 58,200 H-1B visas available every year (65,000 visas less the 5,800 visas reserved for Chile and Singapore citizens). Additional 20,000 H-1B visas are available for beneficiaries who have earned a Master’s or higher degree from United States.  We highly suggest that the resources that may be needed in the US for the next year be identified by January or February 2008 and petitions be given to us for processing by first week of March 2008.
